FAIR AND ACCURATE ELECTIONS IN TENNESSEE.
The bill that would change current law and delay implementation of the Tennessee Voter Confidence Act (paper ballot bill) until AFTER this November’s important election is coming back for a vote in the State Senate TOMORROW, Tuesday, January 12, 2010.
If the bill passes, then Tennesseans will be without the fair and accurate elections we deserve for at least another 2 years.

Senator __________, As you know, fair and accurate elections are fundamental to our democracy. Please vote against SB0872 – the bill that will delay implementation of the Tennessee Voter Confidence Act (TVCA) until 2012 – when it comes up for a vote on Tuesday. Tennesseans deserve fair and accurate elections and by replacing the 100% unverifiable paperless electronic touch-screen voting machines we use now with paper ballots, you would be giving us elections that could be monitored, recounted, and audited.
In addition, the new paper ballot system is cheaper, faster, and more secure than what we are using now. If our concern is saving money, the best thing we can do is implement the Tennessee Voter Confidence Act (TVCA).
Last year, the argument for not being able to implement the Tennesse Voter Confidence Act (TVCA) was that there were no ballot-counting machines available that were certified to the correct standards. On November 5, 2009, a Davidson County Judge ruled that machines were indeed available and that the Tennessee Voter Confidence Act (TVCA) could be implemented.
Please vote against SB0872, the bill that would delay implementation of the TVCA. Tennesseans deserve nothing less than fair and accurate elections. Thank you.
Please email & call your State Senator TODAY to demand that the current law be followed and the Tennessee Voter Confidence Act be implemented by the November 2010 election.
