I love me some Kleinheider post titles, but sometimes he just gets it so wrong.

In linking to a post by Ilissa Gold in which she wonders when Democrats in Tennessee will stand up for Democratic values like believing that a child is better off in loving family than in the custody of the state, he writes: Who Will Stand Up For The Lost Cause?

But believing that children belong in nurturing and stable environments regardless of the sexuality or marital status of the committed adults providing the nurture and stability is not a “lost cause.” Nor is it solely a Democratic value.

On January 22, 2009, Quinnipiac University released a poll that found that 55 percent of Florida’s residents favor repealing a state law that prohibits gay and lesbian people from adopting children.

And today, 53% of all Americans support adoption rights for gays and lesbians.
