Thanks so much for this story. It’s wonderful to see so many people advocating for themselves and those they care about, even if they’re not always well-received. Keep fighting the good fight. Change will come, if we continue to hold our legislators accountable and keep them informed about the human beings that are affected by the bills they are voting on.

Thanks so much for your coverage of this, I wish I had run into you at the event to say hi. I left the capital actually feeling like I had made a difference, both of the legislators I met with actually listened and asked questions about how the birth certificate bill and the hate crimes bill would affect the lives of trans people. Neither one of them seemed very supportive of the adoption bill, which is nice. Hopefully they can manage to keep it off the floor again.
