I’m shocked, shocked, I tell you that, according to a recent Gallup poll, 60% of Republicans nationwide view Conservative talk-show host Rush Limbaugh favorably. Seriously, I am flabbergasted that the number is that high.
But if we use the Republican “guilt-by-association” blueprint – they sit in their cars or offices or homes listening to him for hours everyday for years! – that means 60% of Republicans think it’s OK to lie, misrepresent themselves, commit fraud, be a hypocrite, make fun of those with debilitating and life-threatening diseases, be on welfare, and hope that the United States weakens and continues its economic decline.

“All Rush wants it for the Republican Party to return to core principles, and the core principle that Rush follows is: follow Rush.” -Stephen Colbert

Coke vs. Pepsi, CNN vs. Fox, Kissinger vs. Clinton. Wow! What a difference! Could it be that Rush and his counterparts are nothing more than a diversion? And lurking in the background are the same spooks that have been around since the Kennedy Administration? Are we starting to see a pattern here?
SweetMarie – Don’t you know the “what funny trumps” rules? Guess not. And I believe that most Americans believe in family values, faith, morality and community. And that’s where you and me (and Rush) differ. I don’t label people who don’t believe in those things exactly the same way that I do as “Unamerican,” “evil” or “dangerous.” The other difference between Rush and me? I’ve been married once – 13 years and still going strong. How about them family values?
Ken – I believe you. Some of my best friends are conservatives who can and do think for themselves. Guess you all fall into the 40% who either don’t listen or don’t know who Rush is.
I hate to break it to you, but quoting Stephen Colbert is not journalism. It’s funny, but not worth the time it probably took to type out your little article.
It’s also hilarious that liberals can’t wrap their minds around the fact (despite their best efforts) that 60% of Americans still believe in such draconian ideals as family values, faith, morality, and community. Rush Limbaugh espouses these ideals, which is probably why his radio show is the number one listened to program in America, and liberal talk radio can’t even manage to keep their doors open for more than a week or two at a time. Maybe it’s time to take a page from his book?
Just a thought.
Gotta go, Rush’s commercial break is over.
Mary, I hate to break it to you. I am a conservative and I do not listen to Rush Limbaugh, nor Steven Colbert (a non-journalist) – nor do my conservative friends – he is too radical for us. I use a news aggregator to see how the news is reported across the country and the world. Atfer looking at how the events of today are reported or not reported or mis-reported with agendas, I develop an opinion and the opinion on my blog. There are conservatives in this country who can and do think for themselves. Sorry to disappoint.
Awwwww…thanks, Dad!
i like it………i like it……i like it……….your pictures….that is….love dad..
