Veterans are Fair Game, Too

Limbaugh is at it again. This time, however, some brave men and women are shining a light on the dirty work his listeners are doing for him.

VoteVets.org, “The Voice of America’s 21st Century Patriots,” is an organization that gives voice to and tries to elect veterans who are against the Iraq war. They’re organized, they have money, and their message is getting out there. So what’s a Limbaugh to do? Why, smear them, of course!

Brandon Friedman, Vice Chairman of the group and author of The War I Always Wanted, sums it up:

So here’s the deal: Rush says things about us on the radio. People in America hear what Rush says (even though what he says isn’t true). Then those same people write us letters. You can draw your own conclusions about Rush from that.

You can read some of the email these brave men received and see Brandon discussing the hate on Olbermann.

Isn’t it ironic that Limbaugh’s listeners, who self-identify as conservatives, are doing what they have accused Democrats and progressives of doing since the Vietnam war - not supporting veterans when they return from service? Don’t they know they can be war hawks and still support the troops who aren’t?
