David Walker and the Fiscal Hurricanes: A Rock Opera

So today Mary and I went to the most awesome rock show imaginable. The opening act was Mr. Fiscal Responsibility, and he got everybody movin’.

And then, David Walker and the Fiscal Hurricanes, on probably the best — if not the highest grossing; that’s Bonnaroo — tour of 2007 came on. That’s right, the Fiscal Wake-up Tour. And in an act of grace, the main act actually welcomed Coop in for a guest set.

Let me introduce the band:

It’s kind of a bipartisan/non-partisan supergroup jam band. Their sound is unified, but their set was very solo-oriented.

The cool thing is that I’ve already found a few bootlegs online.

And kind of like Al Gore’s Live Earth, this concert ended with suggestions about what we can do to make the world a better place.

Coop mentioned at the end that there’s another show coming to town on Thursday featuring George W. Bush and Fiscal Incontinence. Kristol Meth was a part of their tour this weekend, and it was awful. I think I’ll skip the Nashville stop. I just can’t stand emocon kids…
