Shameful and disgusting! That summarises my take on the good reverend’s comments. He is obviously a ‘throwback’ of the 60s caught in a time warp.

Not even once did he refer to radical Islam as an enemy of the US! Does this man not acknowledge that we have enemies? To characterise christians only as ‘peaceful’ is blatantly incorrect. If this was the case, European christians never would have fought to repel the Islamic invaders over 1000 years ago. What is this man thinking? American christians are not the ‘enemy’. For heaven’s sake, he has a woderful occupation at one of the top universities in the South.

Perhaps the ‘good reverend should preach christianity in ‘open’ Islamic countries such as Indonesia, Pakistan or the Sudan. Then, and only then would he realise how wonderful the US is. He has completly lost perspective on what oppotunities are afforded him.

Based on the interview with Reverend Lawson, we know what he believes Jesus’ message to be. What do you think it is, Robert?

Really? Christians of 1000 years ago are going to be our standard? I guess that’s what it takes to make this administration look like good Christians.

As Kurt Vonnegut was fond of saying: “Why is it that modern Christians are so willing to push the 10 commandments, but ignore the sermon on the mount?”
