A lovely benediction kicked things off as the sun began to set, thankfully. Erika Dunlap belts out the Star Spangled Banner before 3-time Grammy award winning artist, John Legend, performs a handful of songs.

The crowd is extraordinarily diverse (which is something to love about the Democratic party) with a good amount of the young people in attendance (Harold Ford on MySpace.com?).

And there’s beer!
