Live from “The Road to Victory” Rally

As others are glued to the tube watching early election returns, we’re at LP Field baking in the hot sun and waiting for the Harold Ford/William Jefferson Clinton Road to Victory rally to begin.

Why does the music at these things have to be so bland? I’m envisioning a funk band to get this party started instead of the what I’m hearing, a live band playing terrible cover songs terribly. “Breakfast at Tiffanys,” anyone?

Oh thank goodness. The band just ended and now Earth, Wind and Fire’s “Shining Star” is whimpering out of the speakers. Turn it up! So the bad band was turned up to “11″ and the party music is at an anemic “6?” Someone’s priorities are wack.
