You know. It’s a bunch of horse hockey to say that this kind of thing has to be done in the name of “national security.” How un-American. Unless you’re idea of an ideal American is Joe McCarthy.

And here’s another load: “I will make this point,” Bush said. ”That whatever I do to protect the American people — and I have an obligation to do so — that we will uphold the law, and decisions made are made understanding we have an obligation to protect the civil liberties of the American people.”

Hey! It’s ol’ George “Say one thing but do another” Bush. Bleech.

“…some officials familiar with the continuing operation have questioned whether the surveillance has stretched, if not crossed, constitutional limits on legal searches.” Uh, ya think??? Senators Spector and McCain, apparently, do think.
